Anatomy of an Implosion: A Project by Many Rank-and-File Confessional Lutherans

“But what is actually the matter with the modern man is that he does not know even his own philosophy; but only his own phraseology.”

G.K. Chesterton, The Common Man, an essay in the book, In Defense of Sanity

I would like to say that our Lutheran colleges and universities “know not what they do” regarding their adulterous affair with DIE, Woke Marxism, and Social/Justice (these are all names of the same phenomenon). But ignorance of their own philosophy of education is itself an indictment of these places of “Lutheran higher education.” Of all places, we expect that our Lutheran colleges and universities would have their philosophy of education shipshape and Christ-centered through and through.

In Anatomy of an Implosion, I explain why our Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW), as G. K. Chesterton put it, “does not even know its own philosophy” of education. Here’s one reason …

Its Administration and especially its Academic Administrators (that is, its Presidents, Provosts, and Deans) have for decades studiously ignored our biblical and Lutheran Formula of Concord. This is a top-down problem for the many faithful professors still at CUW and for our Lutheran churches with whom CUW is breaking fellowship by drifting from its Lutheran mission toward secular, atheistic Woke Marxism.

In fact, they have come to despise the Formula’s requirement that Lutheran professors must “believe, teach, and confess” everything that Christ teaches us in His Word, and “reject and condemn false dogma” or anti-biblical and atheistic ideologies such as Woke Marxism.

This is the reason that my Concordia, CUW, has been hounding me. But, although I am the author of Anatomy of an Implosion, this book is not merely a one-man project. From the beginning of CUW’s very public suspension and threats to terminate me for rejecting and condemning the Board’s and Administrations’ dalliance with the false dogma of Woke Marxism, this has been a concern for thousands of pastor and parishioners in our Lutheran churches and beyond. For a quick example, please take a look at Petition · Stand Up for Concordia Wisconsin Professor Gregory Schulz, signed by nearly 7, 000 people.

For other examples, please have a look at this brief video about the book and its many Lutheran contributors!
